About Me

Hi there! My name is Casey,  I'm a 30 year old transwoman living on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. During the day I work as a mechanical engineer on underwater robots which help scientists explore the deepest regions of the oceans. In my spare time... shopaholic, fashionista-in-training, and eager blogger!

After many years of personal struggle with my identity, I started my transition from male to female in 2012 and have been on hormone replacement therapy since January 30th, 2013. As of September 23rd, 2013 I've been living full time as a woman and couldn't be happier.  This ongoing transition has provided me with a unique perspective and inspired me to give back to others from the insights I've learned along my path.

Several years ago, I found myself totally frustrated with the lack of any real resources online for transwomen especially, but also just women in general, regarding style and fashion. With so many superficial resources out there, it is difficult to find genuinely helpful and practical advice. Although being transgender carries with it some unique challenges, when it comes to style and fashion I believe that the trans community shares all the same ambitions and hopes as the rest of the world. A common thread that indeed people aren't as different as they may seem at first glance.

I started "A Stylish Transition" with the hopes of sharing everything I learn as I continue transitioning and provide a resource to help offer answers to many of the questions I found myself asking over the past years. My goal is to demystify finding a flattering, truly personal style so that we can focus on expressing ourselves confidently, letting the world see us as we already do so clearly. Expressing oneself comfortably and effectively is important to everyone regardless of how you may identify, truly a universal art.
